Most systems allow for a length of the capillary tube from the filter to be fixed on the outside (or inside on some machines) of the return from the evaporator. Temperature control

The temperature in refrigerators and freezers is governed by a simple thermostat arrangement. Variable capillary thermostats are used by nearly all manufacturers and replacement units are generally available. When replacing a thermostat, make sure you buy one identical to the original. Frost free systems

This system does not produce an ice build-up during the refrigeration or freezing process. Cooling is by compression and expansion with the addition of a motorized fan which circulates the air throughout the compartments to give a more even distribution of coldair. The system includes a means of dehumidifying the air (it condenses on the coldest part of the system and then is drained away to evaporate outside the loadcompartment). This is a simple operation that works extremely well.

Any likely mechanical and electrical problems will be much the same as with conventional appliances with the addition of possible faults with the circulation fan and motor.

Although faults associated with excess frost build-up are eliminated with this system, the running cost and the initial purchase price are higher.
