Unplug the Fridge power cord before servicing the Fridge. Move the Fridge out from the wall. Use extreme care when moving the Fridge, because the Fridge legs can easily damage the floor.
Open the Fridge door and locate the control console in the back of the Fridge cabinet. Remove the screws that secure the console cover. Remove the thermostat bracket. NOTE: Before removing the defrost timer from the Fridge cabinet, mark the wires, so they can be replaced correctly on the replacement part. Install the replacement timer by mounting it in the same position as the defective part. Follow the instruction steps and procedures that are provided in the replacement Fridge defrost timer kit. If no installation procedure is provided, reverse the above steps.

The replacement part will usually be different from the original thermostat, because the replacement part has been engineered to fit several models in a manufacturer’s line.
Install the replacement thermostat by mounting in the same position as the defective part that was removed. Follow instructions provided by the manufacturer or reverse the above steps.

Using a flat-blade screwdriver, remove the clip and cover that secures the starting components to the compressor. Remove and discard the defective relay. NOTE: Record the wiring sequence of the defective relay so replacement relay can be wired in the same sequence as the old relay.
Install the replacement relay by mounting in the same positon as the defective relay that was removed. Follow installing steps provided in the replacement relay kit, or reverse the above steps.
Remove the cabinet back coverand locate the compressor motor and starting package components.
Use a flat-blade screwdriver to remove the clip and cover that secures the starting components to the compressor. Remove the defective starting capacitor and discard the capacitor. The replacement capacitor must be wired in the same sequence as removed from the defective capacitor.
Install the replacement capacitor by mounting in the same position as the defective capacitor that was removed.
Remove the cabinet back coverand locate the compressor motor and the starting package components.
Using a flat-blade screwdriver, remove the clip and cover that secures the compressor starting components. Remove anddiscard the defective protector. Replace according to manufacturer’s instructions.
If you have diagnosed the compressor as being defective, you should call a qualified factory technician that is familiar with sealed system procedures. You should not attempt this repair, because a thorough knowledge of refrigeration procedures and special tools are required.
