My Electrical Appliance Timber Dryers does not Start in Cycle, how to fix it (Repair and Replace)

Unplug the power cord or gas supply before servicing the clothes dryer. Move clothes dryer out from the wall. Exercise care when moving the dryer from its original position because the dryer legs can easily tear holes in your floor.

To Replace Door Switch

Remove screws to dryer top. Lift the top of the dryer by inserting a flat-blade screwdriver between the cabinet and the top of the dryer. Remove the screws that secure door switch to dryer front panel and discard the door switch.

Install the replacement part door switch by securing the striker to the replacement part switch and mounting it in the same position as the defective door switch that was removed. Replace wires on same terminals of new switch. Follow other instructions provided in the replacement part door switch kit. If no installation steps are provided, reverse the above steps.

To Replace Drive Motor

To remove the drive motor, unplug the dryer power cord and move the dryer out from the wall. Remove screws that secure the dryer top to the fan scroll. Use a small flat-blade screwdriver to wedge it between the top and the dryer cabinet to lift top. Raise the dryer top and lean it against a wall. Remove the screws on the left-hand and right-hand sides that secure the dryer front panel to the cabinet. Remove the dryer toe plate by using a small screwdriver and wedging between the toeplate and holding clip. Remove the harness wires from the door switch and note the terminals from which they were removed as they are to be re-installed on the same terminals. Next, apply pressure downward with fingers and remove door springs, loosen screws at the bottom of front panel, and remove the front panel from the dryer. Remove the wiring harness wires from the drive motor and mark the wires as they are removed, since they are to be reinstalled on the same terminals of the replacement drive motor. Remove the dryer idler pulleyand remove belt and drum. Place one wrench on the blower wheel hub (back of motor) and another wrench on the motor shaft that secures the belt pulley. While holding one wrench, turn the other in a clockwise direction so that the blower wheel can be removed). Locate the drive motor clips and with a screwdriver inserted in slot, press downward and remove the drive motor clip. Next, make an alignment mark of the position of the drive motor as it sits in the motor cradle and lift out the drive motor. NOTE: The replacement drive motor is to be reinstalled in the motor cradle in the same position as the defective drive motor that was removed. Failure to do so would result in misalignment of the drive motor and might allow it to rub against the dryer drum as the drum is turning.

Install the replacement drive motor by mounting in the same position as the defective drive motor that was removed. Follow instructions and procedures provided with the replacement motor. If no installation steps are provided, reverse the above steps.

Replacing the drive motor on the gas dryer requires basically the same procedures as outlined above for an electric dryer.

To Replace Drive Motor Centrifugal Switch

After removal of the drive motor, use a flat-blade screwdriver to remove the screws that secure the centrifugal switch to the drive motor housing. Remove the wiring harness wires from their terminals and note the sequence that the wires were removed. The wires are to be reinstalled on the terminals of the replacement switch exactly as they were removed from the defective centrifugal switch. The switch can now be removed from the drive motor.

Install the replacement switch by mounting in the same position as the drive motor centrifugal switch that was removed.
